Glendora Unified School District has earned a reputation for excellence and is a jewel among school districts throughout California. Students in Glendora Unified School District enjoy vigorous community support, excellent academic achievement and extensive extra-curricular activities. GUSD is now facing a financial crisis that jeopardizes the quality of education that we can offer. For the 2008- 2009 school year we will lose:
- $1.6 million dollars due to declining enrollment
- $3.0 million dollars if the Governor’s proposals to cut education are passed
High quality programs must be preserved!
- Beyond the Basics: Athletics, Optimal Class Sizes; Class Size Reduction (K-3)
- Unique programs: Outstanding Elementary Music, Award Winning Middle and High School Performing Arts: Drama, Choir, Band and Orchestra
- Preparing Students for College: Counselors at the Middle and High schools, AVID in grades 7-9, Student Support Services such as SAT, PSAT
- 21st Century Technology: Updated Computer Labs, Integrated Technology in Classroom
Enthusiastic community support is a hallmark of Glendora Unified. Support our Students (SOS) is a fundraising campaign the Foundation for Glendora Unified Schools has begun. The goal is to support each student in GUSD with a $100 donation. Please donate and help your school district during this financial crisis. Together, we can sustain excellence in education.
